A local builder asked us to design the HVAC for an all-electric, energy-efficient new home.

The tight building envelope needed fresh-air ventilation, and the owners wanted the option to switch to geothermal later.

Our solution included:

A variable-speed 22 SEER2 heat pump sized with a full Manual J and Manual D duct design.
An energy recovery ventilator brings in fresh air without losing heat.
Sealed and pressure-tested ductwork with leakage under 4%.
A geothermal-ready loop stub lets the owners upgrade later without new trenching.

The home earned a HERS score of 42 and has no gas bill at all.
